I didn’t have any burning questions left unanswered and overall, the Lux series wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be after the end of Obsidian. Give it a go, if you think you can, but know that the paranormal series that came before, like Twilight, are probably better.Back in the day, I had this plan for the off chance that I was around for the whole end-of-the-world thing. As I said, it wrapped it all up, which is always good. Not the most offensive of the series, but not a shiner either. It gave me a lot of closure on the characters, and I can continue to read in peace knowing they’re OK at the end of their series. I think it wrapped everything up in a neat little bow and there was a happily ever after for everybody left. Was that the case for Opposition? You take a guess! When there isn’t much of that, it becomes a problem, because I end up skimming most of the book. As much as I love Percy Jackson, I often find myself skimming through the battle sequences to get to the character interaction and development. Battle scenes aren’t really my favourite thing. Armentrout can certainly keep her readers on their toes. I would never have seen that coming, after their portrayal in the first few books. It got a bit formulaic at the end there, but I really enjoyed the twist in one of the main character’s plot lines. After every sex scene, something dramatic happened. The action scenes weren’t few and far between. No more, I love you but I don’t love you, or it’s not safe for you out there! Daemon let Katy fight (as if it was up to him anyway, gosh, I hate male characters that try and restrict the actions of the female character.) This was definitely the healthiest I’d ever seen their relationship, and thank goodness for that.Īre evil, basically. The one thing I can say for the couple is that they finally got their act together, which is what I wanted from the very beginning. They didn’t seem to have their priorities straight. It wasn’t steamy or enjoyable, it was cringey and uncomfortable. I’d say at least every 50 pages, Daemon and Katy get it on before the end of the world. My expectations were pretty low, seeing as the other books in the series didn’t get more than 3 stars from me, Unfortunately, Opposition didn’t meet the expectations set by everyone else, but I wasn’t disappointed. As a not so hardcore fan (would I go so far to say fan?) I’m more skeptical.

Everyone on BookTube that’s read it seems to love it, and see it as the best book of the series. Will they be able to put aside their lust for each other long enough to fight the battle? ….eh, no.
